An unexpected bloom appears in the city.
Five dancer–scientists from the Bloom Dept arrive to investigate, transforming a city laneway into their temporary field office. Part botany, part choreography, this short work is playful, precise, and just a little surreal – imagining a future ecology unfolding in real time, where bodies trace the data of blooms, overgrowth, and transformation. Passers-by are invited to glimpse a world where ordinary space glows for a moment, alive with curiosity and possibility.
Bloom Dept is created by Blink Dance Theatre – an experiment in the urban wilds, where art and adaptation bloom in unexpected places.
