Welcome to ROAM Geelong, where the ordinary transforms into the extraordinary!

We invite you to help shape the event into one intriguing day and night on Saturday 11 October, offering an opportunity for audiences to roam and discover the vibrant creative heart of Geelong.

GET INVOLVED

We’re calling on artists and creatives to help shape ROAM Geelong. Submit your ideas for immersive projections, interactive installations, and site-specific performances that spill out into the park, laneways, courtyards and facades of the arts and cultural precinct, (Little Malop St between Gheringhap and Fenwick St,) and Johnstone Park. Concepts should respond to the architecture, history, people, and spirit of Geelong – grounding the extraordinary in the authentic.

TRANSFORMING
THE CITY
THROUGH ART

ROAM Geelong will transform the arts and cultural precinct, Johnstone Park, and Little Malop Street into a surreal, walkable wonderland — weaving together large-scale performances, immersive and interactive installations, dynamic physical theatre, and bold collaborations with local artists, creatives, and institutions to deliver an experience where creativity knows no bounds.

A FESTIVAL ROOTED
IN PLACE

At the heart of ROAM Geelong is a commitment to storytelling and connection. The event will amplify the diverse voices, histories, and identities that shape Geelong. Through art, creativity and performance, we aim to uncover both familiar and hidden narratives, deepening the connection to place and celebrating the people who make Geelong unique.

A UNIQUE URBAN STAGE

What sets ROAM Geelong apart is its location. Our festival unfolds within a rare cultural corridor where iconic institutions — from the striking Geelong Arts Centre and historic Geelong Gallery, to the contemporary Geelong Library & Heritage Centre (The Dome), the heritage-listed Old Courthouse, and the quirky ‘Upside Down Building’ — sit side by side. This walkable, architecturally rich setting offers the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable cultural adventure.
